C.L.E. Aladino
Well what can I say? C.L.E. has done it again and made a cigar that you can look forward to. I have had many C.L.E. Cigars over the years and they never disappoint. Compliments of the customer service of Alan Friedman (i.e. "Cigar Savant" on Cigar Tipsters podcast) provided me with a C.L.E. Aladino Robusto. Now before I get into the flavor profile of this cigar I want to get into what makes this cigar special and a little history about it. Aladino is the name of Christian's cigar factory in Danli, Hondurans. It was named after a movie theater that was in the same area where the factory is. This is the first 100 percent Corojo puro that C.L.E. has made; binder, wrapper, and filler. Traditionally Corojo is used as a wrapper or binder and is a little unusual to use Corojo tobacco as a puro. Some other companies, like Camacho, made the Camacho Corojo which is also 100 percent Corojo, however, it is also full bodied and full strength. This full strength means you may experience more nicotine which distracts you from enjoying the flavor. This Aladino cigar is medium bodied and full flavored, which means you can smoke it with ease and enjoy more of the flavor and less of the nocotine strength.
The flavors of this cigar change throughout the smoking experience, and it's all for the better. It first opens up with notes of caramel, cedar, and honeysuckle. As you continue smoking it changes direction veering away from the cedar and caramel, and noticeable aromas of white pepper and cinnamon makes its way to your pallet. It can be smoked morning, noon, or night, and is versital enough to be enjoyed with a variety of beverages. Overall I find this cigar a wonderful addition to anyone's humidor and could easily be used as an everyday smoke or special occasion if you are willing to age it for a year or two.
