If you have ever tasted the Xen by Nish Patel, then you know that Nish continues the Patel family tradition of good cigars.  This fact had me very excited to get my hands on the Bold, the newest offering by Nish Patel that will be on sale sometime in November. 

 

The bold is a stark departure from the light flavors of the Xen, when you first light up the Bold; the dominant flavor is black pepper.  However, it is not a harsh black pepper flavor because it actually comes across the taste buds in a mellow fashion.  After a few draws, you begin to taste just a hint of sweetness on the back of your throat, something that I would liken to a light cocoa flavor.

 

I had a few minor burn issues with trailing that required a couple of touch ups, but nothing too bad.  The draw on this smoke is fantastic, and it will easily provide a mouthful of smoke.  The flavor was heavier during the opening quarter of the stick, but mellowed out and remained even the rest of the way, providing for a fairly consistent smoke.  Nice construction, and great flavor, makes this a stick that I look forward to smoking again when it becomes available.
