VUDU Priest No. 3

8.5/10

The VUDU Priest No. 3 is the continuation of the custom line created by the Famous Smoke Shop crew.  The cigar features an Ecuadorian Connecticut wrapper, which leads to a medium flavor, and is constructed in Honduras.  I was able to smoke this cigar three times prior to writing this review, and along with Famous Smoke Shop, we will be giving away some of these cigars in conjunction with this review.

Now, let us speak about the cigar itself and what we think about the VUDU Priest No. 3 and whether or not we would recommend this as a smoke for our readers.  Starting out, the cigar is well constructed and the pre light draw offers up an earthy smell that is a bit reminiscent of hay. When lit the cigar offers that heavy earthy aroma that is often found in Connecticut wrapped cigars, but there is some peppery spice to keep things interesting along the way.  In my opinion, this would be a nice cigar to present to a beginning smoker, it will not knock their head off, but will provide enough flavor to keep them satisfied.

I give this cigar high marks when it comes to the consistency of the flavor, it did a nice job of staying basically the same throughout.  There was some additional bitterness towards the end, but that can happen with any cigar that you smoke.  The draw was also never an issue, presenting the smoker with mouthfuls of flavorful smoke to enjoy.  The only knocks that I had on this cigar were the burn and the tightness of the ash.  The burn was inconsistent and required quite a bit of touching up along the way, while the ash was also pretty flaky, but that was likely due to touchups.  Some of these issues may have been due to my own impatience, I should have allowed the sticks to rest, but when I have a new cigar to try, patience is not my friend.  Overall I would recommend this cigar to anyone that enjoys a lite to medium smoke or a good cigar for a beginner to try.
