The Undercrown Dogma is a beautifully constructed 6 x 56 box press that was blended in commemoration of the one-year anniversary of Cigar Dojo. This stick is a limited run that will be sold in 10 count batches by the Smoke Inn retail chain in Florida and also through the Smoke Inn website. Pre light draw brings in hints of cedar and leather but spice becomes the order of the first third of the cigar. The spice seems to stick within the black pepper realm but there is a unique earthy flavor that is like coming from the Connecticut Habano binder. Entering in to the second third of the cigar, the spicy pepper flavor mellows dramatically and turns to an odd sweetness. This was a sweet  flavor that myself and the other person smoking the stick spent several minutes trying to pinpoint. We settled on molasses because it is a unique sweetness that you do not run across everyday.

 

The final third of the cigar was definitely a bit harsher, and the pepper began to transcend the molasses and really take over the flavor. This was not to the level of being bitter, and the harshness of that final third will likely mellow with a bit of time resting in the humidor. All in all this was a good smoke, the burn was actually superb and required very little in the way of relighting. This was surprising because I was smoking this stick pretty slowly, so it was pleasant not to have to continually reach for the lighter.

 

The Undercrown Dogma is a respectable choice for anyone that wants a full flavored smoke, and it will likely find a place in my humidor. I plan to age a few of them, just to see how they do with some aging on them.
