E Stunner by EP Carrillo

Cigar Tipsters Rating:

7.5/10

When you pick up the E Stunner, the first thing that you are going to notice is that it is a serious departure from everything you would expect from EP Carrillo.  The band on this cigar is young, bright, and colorful; it takes on the shape of bullhorns on the top section.  The cigar is available in three sizes, which are 4 x 46, 5 x 50, and 5.5 x 54, but this review will focus on the Siboney, which is the middle size.

This cigar is roughly a 50/50 blend of Nicaraguan and Dominican tobaccos, which is a departure from past EP Carrillo sticks, and this stick also features the Ecuadorian Sumatra wrapper that has become an EP Carrillo staple.  Upon first light, the first thing you are going to notice is pepper; I noticed heavy black pepper with a hint of white pepper as well.  Do not let the small size of this cigar fool you, it packs a punch and if you enjoy a good retro hale, then you are going to be in for a spicy surprise.

Towards the latter half of the cigar, it does begin to produce just a bit of sweetness, but the spicy pepper is still the dominant flavor here.  The draw allows for a mouthful of smoke and I did not have an significant burn issues with this stick.  This is certainly a stick that will find its way to my humidor, but I do recommend having a little something on the stomach before you dive in; this would make a great stick for after dinner.

Thanks for reading
