Leccia Black Toro

The first word that popped into my head as I lit up the Leccia Black was unique.  You will immediately realize that this stick features a little something extra versus your average cigar.  This unique taste comes from the “Fire-Roasted Tobacco” that is included as part of the blend.  This cigar has a scent that will remind you of a cookout on a warm summers afternoon, and has a heavy spice flavor behind it.

The Leccia Black produces a clean and consistent smoke throughout the entire stick, which should not come as a surprise since Sam Leccia is the brainchild behind the Nub.  This is a cigar that I enjoy late in the day, and definitely after a meal.  Also goes great with a little Coke and Jack combination as the acidity in the Coke gives the spice from the cigar just that little bit of extra punch. For my personal pallet, the Leccia Black is to heavy to smoke on an empty stomach, or as an early day smoke.  The Leccia Black is nicely constructed, with a very smooth smoke, and it has quickly become a mainstay in my humidor.

Highly recommend that you check out the Leccia Black and give it a shot, you’ll be glad that you did.

 Leccia Black Toro

I had heard a lot of chatter in the cigar community about the new offerings from Sam Leccia Tobacco co. I am a long time fan of the Nub so I was excited to get my hands on the new offering from Sam. And I was not disappointed from the pre light draw you can tell this isn't your grandpa’s cigar.

The cigar is a 5 country blend of tobaccos including a fire cured offering that is new to the market, after the initial light up (with a cedar spill) the flavor and aroma was very pronounced and you get hints of shall I say a BBQ grill with a gray bed of charcoal just begging for that porterhouse. And there is nothing I like better than grilling out on the boat with a cold beer and a fine cigar. With the Sam Leccia Black I was able to get that vision while driving down the road heading for Memphis Tn.

But the fire-cured tobacco is not the only star of the show. The blend of tobaccos in this cigar is excellent, and I also picked up some hints of cedar as well as a pepper/spice on the retro hale

By the midway point I had decided this would be an addition to my regular rotation and was making its way to the top of the list. One of my indications of a good cigar is when it's burning my fingers before I put it down and this one did.

My reviews will be more from a cigar lover’s point of view and not someone in the industry or overly technical but hopefully you will find them helpful when standing in the walk-in humidor looking at so many options.

Construction was excellent as well as the burn start to finish. I paired this cigar with a cup of med roast coffee but have also had it with Jack Daniels single barrel and both worked very well together.
